From Germantown

Go north on Germantown Parkway to Dexter Road. Turn left on Dexter and go approximately 2.5 miles to Appling Road. Turn right on Appling and Appling Manor is on the left just past the 1st Class Montessori School. You will have to make a U-turn thru the median.

 WENDY PATTON TO DISCUSS 

MAKING HARD CASH IN A SOFT REAL ESTATE MARKET

Wendy Patton,  a  leading real estate author and trainer in the nation, will be at the next Memphis Investors Group meeting on Thursday July 9, 2009 at 7:00 pm.

On Wendypatton.com Ms. Patton describes that “A lease with an option to buy involves leasing a home from a seller who might not be able to sell it or rent it otherwise. It allows the investor to rent it and then buy it, without having to use money or credit. I was able to do this over and over again. I have bought and sold over 600 lease option (rent to own) homes. The technique of lease with option to buy is what helped me get going “full steam ahead” in the real estate business.”

“Investing using the subject to technique involves having the seller sign the deed of their home over to the buyer “subject to” the existing mortgage. The seller keeps the mortgage in their name, but the buyer/investor owns the home and is responsible for the payments of the mortgage. The investor does not have to qualify for a new mortgage using this method. The technique of subject to allows the seller to move on and get out from underneath their payments and the investor the ability to buy many homes without using his or her own cash or credit.”

The main meeting starts at 7 p.m.  Admission is free for first-time visitors and to members.  Repeat visitors pay only $20.  In addition to the above main meeting, a networking session will start at 6 p.m.

MIG will also be hosting an early bird meeting which will start at 6 PM.  Arnold Dormer, an investor with over 30 years experience will focus on new comers with “Getting Started Right in Real Estate.” 

In addition to Thursday’s meeting Ms. Patton will also be presenting a one day workshop on Saturday July 11th at 9:00 a.m. at the Memphis Better Business Bureau on 3693 Tyndale Drive.  Registration is $39 or $59 per couple and $59 or $79 per couple at the door.  Registration includes lunch and seating is limited.
